These '''beggars''' are characters you can only encounter in a random event. They each call out to you asking for charity, you decide whether to comply, refuse, or mock them for the circumstance they found themselves in.

One of the beggars is a frail old man with failing sight, and a barrel with the fire already gone out.

The second beggar is a thin, young woman with a quiet voice. She has her dog [[Kirby]] to keep her company.

The third beggar is a young man, actually a mugger in disguise. With 8 perception you can see through his charade, this opens up the option to scare him off with 50 effective intimidation skill. Every other option will end with him demanding you hand all of your money over. Should you stall for time too long with your questions he will attack, and similarly you too have many options to just proceed to combat. However if you yield to his demands you have only one chance left to attack and recover your money, or the mugger flees in a cutscene never to be seen again.
