Parasitic Infestation can be caused by taking Bio damage from a Locust's attack. Damage and additional debuffs progressively increase as the infestation spreads throughout the system. After the last phase of the infestation a Locust Spawn is spawned from the player's body instantly ending the status effect. A player may suffer from more than one instance of Parasitic Infestation making it potentially deadly. It should be noted that the debuff only increases in severity when exposed to the gases which locust hives produce, so moving away from the hives may prove vital in areas teeming with locusts.
