Black Rock Totem in the Sørmirbæren Temple

Flottsørmir or the 'Great Serpent' is the god venerated by the Sørmirbæren. He is believed by them to lurk in the deepest depths of the Black Sea and his messages are relayed to the serpentborn through the spiriters. The only one however who can truly understand his will is the great shaman residing in the Sørmirbæren Temple.

Spoiler

This article contains heavy spoilers.

In the Abyssal Station Zero, it is revealed that Flottsørmir is actually a hostile being from beyond the known universe. The Atlantean NFT personnel of the station came into contact with the entity through the strange black monolith they discovered - the Shadowlith. Eventually, the Atlantean staff attempted to cut the black monolith with a strange anamorphic disc. This experiment ended up as a success, but also caused a huge energy emission and filled the R&D dome with shadow dust. After inhalation of the dust, all present researchers came under the yoke of Flottsørmir, becoming the ancestors of the modern Sørmirbæren. Some time later, they left the station using subspheres, butchering the Lemurians living there and any fellow Atlanteans who refused to join them, taking the offcut of the Shadowlith with them.

For unknown reasons, Flottsørmir is not able to expand its influence beyond the Monolith at the edges of the Black Sea and all Sørmirbæren who try to approach it die.

Although it is never directly explained what exactly Flottsørmir is, it is implied that he may possibly be one of the great cosmic leviathans that the Godmen waged war with in their own galaxy.
