Hive is a critter in Underrail: Expedition expansion.

Description

The Hive is a structure appearing in the Underrail: Expedition expansion around and inside the Crimson Meadow Horticulture Center and the Fetid Marsh.

Fighting tactics

When the Hive detects the player or is otherwise disturbed it will spawn a wave of varying amounts of Locust, Hives adjacent to water will also spawn Water Locust. When in combat Hives will spawn waves of Locust until destroyed. Locust spawned from a hive will eventually return inside after sufficient time passes without spotting the player indicated by the hive regaining its red glow. Upon destroying the hive one final wave of Locust will emerge from it.

In addition to the usual methods of attack a Hive may also be destroyed by planting a TNT Charge nearby from Stealth Mode.
