This sealed container is filled with nanocrystal particles. According to the label, these are suspended inside a cryopreservation chamber and are targeted by its laser cooling system. When excited by the laser, the nanocrystals emit more energy through fluorescence than they absorb, which effectively cools them. This process draws heat from the surrounding gas and allows for ultraprecise temperature control at low energy costs.
