Spore Infection is a debuff encountered in Mushroom Forest of Deep Caverns. It is caused by inhaling spores of the mushrooms or getting attacked by shroomling creatures. It has a long duration and stacks up to 15 times, potentially reducing health by up to 30%.
Once it reaches 15 stacks for the first time, a hallucination of Pulsating Roots at the heart of the mushroom forest occurs. Afterwards, the player regains consciousness in a deeper part of the forest. The roots must be destroyed to get out.
