Working towards opening the gate will keep you busy throughout Deep Caverns.
Objectives
- Find a way to open the large metal gate leading to Tchort.
- There seems to be some strange organic mass covering the large gate leading to Tchort. Find a way to remove it.
Walkthrough
Basically, four things are needed to open the gate:
- Functional hydraulic gate mechanism.
- This is a long hunt for gate parts.
- See Repair the gate mechanism for details.
- Electric power.
- Make your way through Arke Power Station to gain access to power distribution.
- See Restore Arke powergrid for details.
- A way to remove inert psimorphic growth from the gate.
- Mycokardia from Pulsating Roots in Mushroom Forest. This requires accumulating 30 stacks of spore infection to transition into the caverns below the forest.
- Power Hollow Earth Research Complex, use Organic Processor to turn mycokardia into Psimorphic Biocide Grenades.
- Throw one of the grenades near the inert psimorphic growth on the gate to destroy it.
- A keycard.
- Maria Hope's Keycard (Deep Caverns)
- Found inside Caerus Residential Block after restoring power to it.
- This will allow you to open the gate once the mechanism is repaired, the psimorphic growth is destroyed and the gate area (Mutagen Tanks A) is powered.
